alright, so I have been looking around for an rx 480 for a while now. I want to watercool and overclock my gpu and cpu and I'm (ofcource) going for a custom loop. But what rx 480 should I buy? The strix and xtr have the best pcb, so it is gonna be one of these two. I probebly won't be able to find waterblocks that will cool everything and not only the gpu itself so I need the strix version because it has cooler vrm. It shouldn't run to hot because the vrm can deliver twice as much power annyways.

So is all above correct or do you think I should do something diffrend, or have something wrong?

Why you getting a strix? Yes it is the "best" on the market, but that is only due to it's size and being a 3fan to cool easier...

If you are going water-cooling I would go Sapphire Nitro 8gb, + Ek-FC RX480 waterblock

All the benefits of the strix over the sapphire are taken away once you water cool..... The sapphire out preforms the strix, it just has less fans so couldn't reach potential that the strix has... But with water cooling the sapphire will out preform all day.

The sapphire and xfx GTR are very close, so in my opinion it would come down to price... But if you don't care about price, the xfx GTR marginally out preforms the Sapphire.. But it won't be a noticeable amount. Even if you clock it too the moon you notice anything different in the two cards...

Okay, I didn`t really know about the nitro+ being so good. I looked up a pcb brakedown and somee benchmarks and saw that it`s really good. The VRM doesn`t really need additional cooling (same with strix but xft gtr does need it) but it`s cheaper then strix. So it is indeed an excellent choise. Thanks for the awnser :)
