I checked what chipset my heatsink fan needs to support but this is my first build so I am kind of stumbling through the rabbit hole. I think I might have bought a heatsink fan(HSF) that is too large for the board. that I bought and case. Having this initial thought just based on visually seeing it. I have a couple of questions.

-First, is there any way short of measuring that will tell me if the HSF will fit on the board without extending into the RAM?
- Second, same question just being too large for the case.

Any other helpful things I should be looking for would be helpful as well.
Board is GA-Z270N Mini ITX
Case is NZXT S340 Elite
Heatsink & Fan - Cryorig H7

PCPartPicker.com will let you know if it'll fit in your case. Not sure about the ram However.

Just filter by cyroig (after adding your case) and if the h7 doesn't show up it won't fit it

Fit yes (it'll give a suggestion if a vidoe card is too long and might have to remove a drive cage) and it'll give a full out warning if you force it to do something that won't work. Check the top line after you complete your build for notes
