Which AMD GPU should I get?

Hi all!

Yeah, that question is very open, so I´ll give you the details.

Currently I have a GTX 760 mini GPU in my Corsair 250D. A few days ago I bought an LG 34UM68 ultrawide display with Freesync and now I'm thinking about getting a new GPU to take advantage of Freesync. This is why I decided to go with AMD (also because I think that Nvidia should stop being stubborn and support Freesync instead of G-sync because they should worry about the client's satisfaction and gain and not only profits [/complaint]), so even if it might be better to go with a 1060 for the price, I wouldn't.

I already did some research but still can't make my mind.

Here is my dilema:

[strike]ASUS RX480 STRIX OC 8GB[/strike] [strike]Link[/strike] Please check edit#2.
[strike]Pros:
- Better cooling
- Marginally better clock than reference
- Maybe better OC becuase of cooler?
- Looks better
- I like Asus

Cons:
- More expensive
- Small case might make the open cooler design be a problem in a the small 250D*
- No waterblocks if i choose to watercool it in the future**
[/strike]
Any reference 8GB card:

Pros:
- Cheaper
- Blower style cooling should be better in the small 250D
- Water blocks availabe in case of future watercooling

Cons:
- Looks plain
- Will probably run hotter
- Will probably be noisy

(I might have gotten some of the pros and cons wrong, so please correct me if I did.)

And to make my decision even harder, the new Vega GPUs should be hitting the shelves till July, so it might not be a good idea to spend a lot on a new GPU now. On the other hand, I live in Brazil and the new GPUs will probably take a lot of time to arrive here at an acceptable price.

Thank in advance for the help!

*About the cooling in the 250D. I'm not sure if this is really an issue because I don't know if the airflow in my case is considered to be decent. I have a Cougar Vortex 70.5 CFM 140mm Fan in the front for intake and two NF-F12 PPC 2000 PWM in the side as exhaust.

** There is this idea in my head to watercool my PC, but because of the price and dificulty of getting parts here in Brazil, this will probably not happen. Still, it might....

[edit] Thanks for the heads-up @buddyzilla.

This PC is mostly for 1080p gaming with occasional Revit work. For the gaming part i would like it to handle current and near-future games at max settings with 50+fps (for freesync to work properly) if possible.

[edit#2] Now I kinda feel stupid ... For some reason I decided to look at the size of the Asus Strix card and.... it doesn't even fit in the 250D, so I can't get it, so there is no reason to include it in the options.

Now that the Strix card is out of the equation, which RX 480 (that fits) would be best for my situation?

Thanks in advance!

In the end, looks don't matter as long as you don't place your PC in a contest of some sort.
Performance and cost are key and since half the reasons you listed for the ASUS GPU are aesthetic, a reference card should do especially the blower ones in your case because of the size and airflow. It is worth asking however what you intend to run on it.

I edited the first post. But to answer your question directly, current games at max settings and occasional CAD work.
