Hello. I have recently been sold some parts for a gaming pc which sparked my interest in building one. I wanted to see if these parts work together. (just want to point out i dont have any room to upgrade due to my money will be drained from these parts lol)

CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 Kaby Lake Processor
Mobo: Asus Z170M-E D3 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Ram: Corsair Vengence Pro Series 16gb DDR3 2400mhz

Will there be any difficulties/parts that simply wont work together? Thanks! :)

Solution

Actually in his case the board DOES support DDR3.

You still have 2 problems though
1) You would need a Z270 serries motherboard to support a kabylake cpu (at least until they ship with newest bios). As the bios version it will arrive with wont support your CPU and you wont be able to boot (and you cant upgrade bios if you cant boot).
2) DDR3 support for skylake/kabylake is poor, i would not recommend it at all.

The difference between the H270 and Z270 boards is the ability to overclock cpus that CAN be overclocked (these will have k at the end).

Now sometimes you can find Z serries boards for cheaper then their H counterparts, but dont go out of your way to pay more features you cant use.

So what you're saying is i dont need a z series because im not overclocking? Also i checked with Asus and they confirmed it doesnt work with kaby lake. Also i dont want to upgrade my ram to DDR4 cause i already payed 15 bucks for my 16gb and i dont want to have to buy another set cause i feel like i got a steal.

Correct you do not need a Z serries board if not going to overclock

Well you can overpay $70 for a motherbaord you dont need and have crappy backwards support for DDR3......OR you can save $70 on your board and spend $90 for 16gb DDR4 memory and have a lot less problems (and faster memory) for $20. (which you could probably even make back selling the 16gb of ram).

Do you think you can link me to some cheap 16gb DDR4 Ram under 80 dollars? if not any under 100

They dont sell for under $80. I few posts above I linked some for $89 which is pretty much the best price you can get., I picked that specific ram because 1) GSKill is a good brand, and 2) its speed is the native speed of kabylake cpu's and motherboards so will have zero issues with that.
