External ports not responding after removing and reinserting RAM.

So, just for a moment I had removed my RAM cards and after reinserting them, my PC starts up fine, except all external ports seem to be not working. VGA, USB, etc. I did notice while doing some testing that when I plug in, say a mouse, the light for the tracker will come on for a breif second before disabling. I know it was dumb of me to do so. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks. So, just for a moment I had removed my RAM cards and after reinserting them, my PC starts up fine, except all external ports seem to be not working. Removing and reinserting RAM should not cause issues, I do it all the time when cleaning computers.
Make sure that you didn't accidentally dislodge something else, like a connection ribbon, when you were in there. I'm guessing this is a laptop, and often the external ports are on a separate board that is connected to the motherboard by a ribbon cable and a somewhat delicate connection.
If you tell us the model number we can look it up and maybe point you to some places to check.

Thank you for your feedback! It is actually not a laptop, but I can give you the motherboard model.

MSI FM2-A55M-E33 FM2

If that can help you know any specific area for me to check that'd be lovely.
