Alright, straight to the point... GPU crashes, fans speed up like the PC is melting, have to press reboot button.
I've been having this problem for a while now, I've searched multiple forums for posible causes/answers, I think I know the cause, but I would like a second opinion.
This only happens with games, it doesn't matter if it's high GPU demanding or not, but it has to be a game. Strangely, this doesn't happen with the 3D modelling software I use for work.
When I first built my computer, I had a faulty Corsair AX860i PSU, but I lost the note so I couldn't claim the warranty. I bought a new PSU, an EVGA Supernova G2, 750w everything worked fine for quite some months, and then this problem.
Things I've tried:
Plugging in directly to the wall
Plugging in to an UPS
Clean reinstall graphic drivers
Clean reinstall Windows
Temps have always been good, I keep an eye on them always, but just in case...
Take apart the computer to clean it, reassemble.
Completely remove secondary GPU (used for PhysX only)
Clean reinstall graphic drivers again.
So, after ruling out software and power as the cause, the only left explanation I found while researching was a tired, dying, faulty GPU. I would like a second opinion on this.
Current Specs:
i7-4770K
GTX 780 Ti
32gb RAM
Supernova G2 750w
Previous Sepcs:
Secondary GPU - GTX 750 Ti (PhysX only)
AX860i (Faulty from factory, was causing power surge reboots and warnings)
Thanks for your help
