Hey guys it's about that time for me to finally just go all in on a new PC that'll last me for a good bit so I'm looking for a decent "top of the line" PC with an under $2k budget. So far this is what I've come up with, any suggestions appreciated. Thanks! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/j9WrLD

-I've already got the storage components-

So first thing, your RAM and CPU cooler aren't going to be terribly happy together. It'll work but it'll mean adjusting things. The RipJaw V has a height of 42mm, and you're populating all 4 slots. The RAM clearance on the fan for the NH-D15 is 32mm, and it over hangs RAM slots. So you're going to need to raise the fan up 10mm. Now you're within the 183mm your case allows, but it means your going to lose out 10mm of air movement across your first half of the heat sink. You may want to reconsider your CPU cooler choice. I have the NH-D15 and its a lovely cooler, but its a damn beast. It'd heavy and it makes any RAM configuration changes a serious hassle.

I'd take a look at the Cryorig R1 Universal if your heart is set on a dual fan...
if you wait a week or two with this build, you can get it for much less due to price adjustments. CPU -> 299$, GPU -> 500$
why would you pick 32GB of RAM ?
why would you pick 850watt PSU ?
why not latest 7th gen CPU and Z270 MB ?
And finally, why not GTX 1080 ti ?

Like the others said wait another couple of weeks. Ryzen comes out later today and will either be a better option or will bring down the intel prices. Next week the 1080ti comes out next week and again should help with prices.

I'd take a look at the Cryorig R1 Universal if your heart is set on a dual fan cooler. If you don't want to get as heavy in to overclocking as the NH-D15 might allow, maybe even look at the H7. Also I'd consider the Nzxt Kraken X61 as there is room for it in that case. It's a great AIO water cooler and won't pur 4lbs of metal on the CPU socket.

Second, you're build is using no where need 850w. Even if you were to SLI some 1080's in there you'd still maybe need a 750w. I'd look at a G3 550w or 650w if your considering a move to water cooling.

Finally, didn't notice an OS. So carrying that over from a previous build?

Also like everyone else has mentioned, go with a Kaby Lake build unless you're finding a killer deal on Skylake stuff. Also wait on the build till Ryzen and the 1080 ti come out, price drops alone should be worth it.

Thanks for all the responses, the reason I picked the processor is cause I didn't know there was a newer / better one available. Hence why I'm posting here lol. What are the benefits of the Ryzen? Over the i7 you're suggesting, and what mobo would go good with it etc. and why a 980ti over a 1080?

Edit: sorry you said 1080ti not 980ti
