I recently set an hdd password on my dell 7559 through the bios. After a few days i updated the bios. At that point i was unable to gain access to the hdd although the password was correct. My computer has a ssd as well which is the default boot media.
Does anyone know of a tool that can be used to remove or at least allow me to enter the password for the drive. i don't have anything on it that i don't want to lose, Being that its fairly new.

We can't help you bypass a BIOS password, as that's against forum rules.

We can likely help you enter the password though - but where did you apply the HDD password? Was this in the BIOS itself? Or some OS-based program?

If it was in the BIOS, you'll likely have to go enter the password & save the changes so the 'new' (updated) BIOS remembers the password.
I can't seem to find how you enter the BIOS on a 7559 specifically, but spamming F2 or DEL* should do it as soon as you turn on.

*Occassionally there are other keys required (Fn+F2 etc), or F12 or F8 are all common-ish, the DELL splash screen should tell you which key will allow you to access the BIOS.

Once you've established the appropriate key(s) just spam that key (repeatedly tap it) when you turn the system on.

I entered the password through the bios. So what you are saying is that i should go into the bios and apply the password there? Wouldn't The password be applied to the ssd instead. I do know how to get into the bios. I really just need to know how to remove the password without the bios. the reason is because the hdd is seen by the Bios but it doesn't give any option to unlock it. It just give an option to apply a password to the other hard drive which is the ssd.

Yeah it's under security, but the thing is only one is there. the option to apply a password for hdd1 which is the ssd. The hard drive (option hdd2) has no option to it. i can only apply the password to the ssd, not the hard drive. however the bios does indicate that it is indeed lock and a password is applied to it. i just can't change or remove it.
