Took liquid nitrogen to get an 1800X to 5.35GHz

Now, that's an 8core/16thread chip so was always going to be tough.
On a 6/12 or 4/8 it would be a little 'easier' (as a very loose term :lol
, but appears it will require more cooling than the average consumer will be able to throw at it to hit 5GHz.
As McNumpty said, 4.5GHz would be an accomplishment on most of the Ryzen chips.

looking at toms review and the temps and voltages and they used custom watercooling
unless i read it too quick
be lucky to get to 4.5ghz
though its early days yet need some more reviews

Yeah, the R7 chips seem to be hitting a ceiling of 4.0-4.2GHz or so with air and water cooling. That may change as BIOSes and CPU microcode mature.
I'll be finding out tonight or tomorrow when I finish my water-cooled 1800X build.
