actually I shared C drive but I cannot Go to Program files and windows folder
what i need to do is modify windows folders and program file directory over network.
is there any way to do this? hope someone will figure out this

Solution

Windows has a hidden built in share for the root of the C drive, C$, you can access it over the network that way. \\computername\c$

I you are new to all this, why are you messing with permissions and trying to connect to system folders over the network? It's a good way to kill an operating system by messing with system files.

Are you trying to remotely (via your network) administer the target C: drive (computer)?

Or are you trying to run some game or application on that computer from another computer?

When you are unable to get into the Program Files and Windows folder what message/error do you receive?

Did you establish the original C: drive sharing on the computer hosting the drive or did you "remote" in from another computer?

Most likely a matter of access rights - you need to specify who has access rights to the target drive/folder being shared.

That said, it is really not a good idea to share the entire C: drive.

Set up a specific folder for sharing purposes.

But I cannot access Windows System Folder+Program files
error message about permission
How do i giving the correct permission to C drive to access These folders
Currently i have set it to Everyone.

Thanks for the reply

Do not mess with the rights of the C:\ drive files. Use the c$ share to access the drive over the network, if the account you are using has administrator rights on the computer you will be able to get to all areas. You do not need to do anything else on your own, the c$ share is built into Windows.
