as for i3-6100 vs i3-7100, they are both the same price in the US, but the motherboard for the 7100 is about $20 more. not sure about where you live, and the prices... but it's going to come down to you pricing each with it's required motherboard and seeing which is cheaper, and if the difference is worth going 7100

Yes it would, in that case, go with the Pentium, it seems to be the best right now for a budget build, and you're ready to upgrade if the cash drops in your lap.
