Should I wait to buy a 1070 or 1080

So I was about to buy a 1070 for about 400$ but I saw that Nvida just recently released their Gtx 1080 ti. I was thinking should I just buy my 1070 now or just wait for the price drop? I was also thinking if the 1080 ti drops and the 1080 price drops to around 500$ or lower. I would go for the 1080 instead of the 1070. Any suggestions? Im upgrading from a r9 290 which has screwed up fans and vrm temps hitting 100c along with the card hitting 85-87c on load.

I'd wait a little while. A week or so after the TI is widely available there should be a slight price drop on both the 1070 and the 1080. Pick the one who's feature set and value best fit your budget at that time. If you are considering VR (expensive ($600) add on hardware) the entry card to that seems to be the 1080.

What do you mean by slight? as in 50$ or 100$? if its only around 10-30$ then I will probably just go for the 1070 now as they have a deal where I can get For honor or Ghost Recon wild lands for free which adds more value to the purchase.

My crystalball is a little hazy so I can't say for certain. But I believe that there some indication that the 1080 might drop as much as 100 (might). Still no one knows since no one is being specific about future pricing. Only think for certain is that it will be lower and you have a couple of weeks to save up another $100 or so that is likely to be needed.
