Hello Folks,

My wife has this pc ( follow the link below)
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02544703

And she would like to start playing word of Warcraft with me. But I installed the game and it seems that the video card (on board) Needs a little upgrade. So I was wondering if I could get advice on what to get. Something Under 100$ Since most likely She will play once a week or so. Nothing fancy just be able to play

I was wondering if this would do it.

Solution
Good news and bad news. Good news is that a videocard WILL give you better performance over that onboard graphics you have. Bad news is that computer is a dual core, which will limit performance. Open world games like WoW really can use all the CPU power you can give them, so you'll have to reduce some settings most likely, or resolution, or both.

No no no to the 710, just no. The GT 730 DDR5 is a low budget gaming card. You can game on that at 720p but $99.00? That's a lot of money for a card like that. An RX 460 is about $25 more on that site, if possible I'd go with that.

Even then I remind you that with an Athlon II dual core, keep your expectations reasonable. In short, that's just not a gaming computer. The Athlon II CPUs...

edit; The power supply in that computer is weak. Maybe the GT 730 is about the most you should consider after all.

It's pretty much the same in performance. By that I mean you wouldn't buy a 460 as an upgrade from a 7850, or vice versa. If you put the 7850 in her computer temporarily along with that power supply, you'd see about the performance you could expect from a 460 with that dual core. The 460 uses much less power of course. The GT 730 won't perform anywhere near as well, but it is cheaper and does use even less power.
