Hi all,

I have an Intel quad core PC running Windows 7 professional 32 bit and here is my problem that is driving me up the wall.

I wanted to clear out the PC and reformat but had a lot of work and material on the PC. I copied everything I wanted to save onto two Blu-Ray disks in data format and these seemed to have the material stored on them fine. I reformatted the PC and had it all configured and all seems well.

However, when I insert any of the Blu-Ray backups into the Blu-Ray drive, I am given the dialogue option box to view folders which I can open - but when I attempt to copy anything from the disk the PC just freezes and does not respond and then if I close the Windows Explorer the PC does not see the optical drive and furthermore I cannot open the drive unless I shutdown the PC (not restart) and when booting up I remove the disk from the drive.

When I put another disk in the drive, i.e. a First person Game it runs fine and I can see the drive while the game disk is in the drive.

What is wrong here please? I need to get the material back off the Blu-Ray disks and soon.

Thanks in advance

AJF

Hi ironsound,

thanks for response. there is no run as Administrator option on the drive. I am setup as the administrator on the PC in that I am the only user.

So the administrator option doesn't work i'm afraid

Thanks
