My computer basically just completely turns off like the plug was pulled from the back of it then just restarts right back up happens atleast 2 times if i actually play my computer all day long which i dont do often but usually i use it from 7pm to 10pm and sometimes no restart or 1 restart ive looked into things thinking it might have been overheating or something because this all started when i had replaced the cpu with a better one but i monitored the temps of the cpu and gpu and they never went to a number higher than usual. atm the power supply is a brand new evga 400 watt gpu is nvidia 750ti and the cpu is a Intel Processor Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2.66Ghz the ram is actually probley the oldest thing in the pc its 8gb of something i dont even know how to check it anyways if someone knows what going on please help me out

It's that or you may need a bios update considering you upgraded the CPU. Before you go out and buy a PSU I'd try to see if an update is needed. 450 to 500 watt PSU should be just fine if that's not the case. If the PSU is brand new...

400 watts seems a bit low after upgrading your CPU and running a 750ti. My guess is it's shutting off when the computer comes under load conditions. The 750Ti is power hungry and recommends a minimum of a 300w PSU. if you have a 80+ rated PSU then in all actuality you're really only getting around 320 watts of actual power. When you upgraded your CPU it seems you may have pushed your total system power usage above what your PSU can put out.

If the PSU is brand new it's hopefully new enough that you can return it and just pay the difference. Do you know how many watts the old PSU was?
