Got a new motherboard, can't get into BIOS setup

So I just upgraded my motherboard to an ASUS M5A78L-M and my processor to an AMD FX-8350. I installed all the hardware and the computer turns on but I'm having a variety of problems. It'll turn on and have the options:
Please Press:
DEL - BIOS Setup
TAB - Display BIOS POST Message
F8 - Boot Menu
Alt+F2 - Ez Flash 2

Sometimes my keyboard doesn't work. I try plugging it into different USB outlets and it might not work. But sometimes it does work and I hit delete and it gets stuck on the AMI screen. Earlier when I hit delete it would go into the BIOS setup but then when I tried to use my keyboard it wouldn't move. I've also tried removing the CMOS battery and I don't have a PS2 keyboard but I might buy one. An hour and a half on with their customer support got me no where.

Please help.

Well to be honest that motherboard isn't an upgrade.... (then again I don't know what your previous Mobo was) most likely you'll need to get a keyboard that has the old school keyboard plug instead of usb (probably be able to find one cheap) but tbh I would get a different mobo then your current one...

I got a ps2 keyboard, now when I hit delete it says press f1 to run setup but f1 does nothing. Both the motherboard cite and AMD's cite say that the mobo and CPU are compatiable, but trust me the WAS an upgrade. My old CPU was an A8.

Update: K now when I hit f1 it goes to a black screen
