Hello everyone!

So, I recently bought a second GTX 970 from a friend.
He did not wipe the drivers before giving it to me, as his pc died before he could do so.
I know he was running Windows 10, I have Windows 8.1.
SLI does not work, and putting that card in by itself does not work either.
I have tried reinstalling drivers with both cards in multiple times but to no avail.
I have also tried texting and calling my friend but it seems he wants to ruin a 4 year friendship by ripping me off for $150 (pathetic, right?)

Anyway, there is a BIG possibility that this card is busted, but the fans work, and, when my PC isn't freezing and restarting, NVIDIA Experience, NVIDIA Control Panel, and Devices, ALL detect a second card. I know the SLI bridge is on correctly, Everything is installed correctly.

I got to play Fallout 4 with both cards running, but when I went to start a different game, or open any application, my pc freezes completely, forcing me to turn it off manually.

AGAIN this card has a high risk of being bust, but if anyone has any helpful ideas, I am at wits end and would love to find out that I am wrong and there is something to be done!

Thanks everyone!
-Jake

I am aware of this now.
Unfortunately the card itself is malfunctioning and I have come across no solution.
Thanks for the feedback,
-Jake
