Sooo, i just upgraded my 8800 GTS to a GTX 1050 Ti. Windows is really laggy, and i cant update my drivers. I dont know if i should reinstall my pc for it to work properly. Please help ;D

sounds like old legacy/ poor bios support for todays latest cards and or a prebuilt like a dell or hp then win-10 on top of that . hard enough to get these cards to work properly on newer name brand motherboards as it is. then some not at all

''Fujitsu motherboard ?/ ya , I had 2 8800gts cards and they were pretty good

show us the product and support for your board from the manufacture

Well that is a 7-8 year old CPU right there. Did you install Windows 10 as an upgrade or a clean install? A clean install may do what you need so long as it is a software issue, which I think it is for now.

Are you also running on the original hard drive that came with this rig, or have you replaced it or upgraded to an SSD? 7+ years on the original hard drive is respectable, but if what we are seeing is signs of that hardware starting to go, you may need to replace and you still have to do that clean install.

Make sure you have all your important files and stuff backed up.

First thing though, I would boot into safe mode and do disk cleanup and maybe even defrag. Use that link that maxalge provided, and use that to get rid of the old drivers for your old graphics card. You may have to reboot a few times during this process. If you can get the new drivers installed after that, then great. Also make sure you have the latest drivers for your motherboard, but there is a good chance the manufacturer stopped making them a while ago and are not officially supported in Windows 10.

Thanks for the answers, i fixed it, i had another of the same pc's laying around, with the same specs and the stock cooler. I found out that the thermal paste on the other one was getting really old and its was overheating, so now its fixed. But its weird, i once had a pc with a i7 920, and a gts 450 1gb gddr5. It ran cs go at 300 fps, but this pc with a gtx 1050 and a better cpu runs at 200 fps, the 100 fps actually makes a difference. :D
