Hello,

Much awaited Ryzen is now here, but i don't see any single point to upgrade to ryzen for gaming purpose only.

I am very tight on budget here and is there anyway where i can do cost cutting to get a GTX 1070 on the components mentioned below, excluding the case .

I am from India and building a gaming rig here is a headache when it comes to money.

So, here are the following components i have finally decided which i would be purchasing for my rig:

CPU: i5 7600k (300$)
Motherboard: Asus Strix Z270 F (224$)
Cooler: Cooler master Hyper 212x (45$)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz (105$)
SSD: is this SSD any good for (78$)? https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/adata-m-2-2280-240gb-tlc-ssd-premier-sp550-asp550n38-240gm-c/
else i am going for Toshiba Q300 240GB SSD HDTS724AZSTAE (75$)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (86$)
PSU: https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/antec-truepower-classic-series-tp-750c-power-supply/ (105$)
Card: MSI Gaming X Rx 480 (400$)

Total: 1343$

Budget: 1500$

Now, the toughest choice of all The CASE: NZXT s340 elite (120$) or Corsair 460x (150$)

preferred sites: http://www.amazon.in/
https://www.primeabgb.com/

What is your budget? You make no mention of it.

When you are shopping are you looking to deal with the hassle and wait time of importers? Is the extra expense of dealing directly with Amazon for Prime shipping and easy returns with the limited selection and expense?

My budget is 1400$. And the prizes on amazon.in are very high here in india. Could you please elaborate about the things that you said earlier.

Thanks.

On Amazon India there are two types of resellers.

Amazon Fulfilled: These items are stored in Amazon warehouses in India. They have fast shipping. I assume they also have the same hassle free returns as Amazon has in other countries.

Third Party Importer: These stores list their products on Amazon. However, they import from the US. Shipping can take several weeks. You have less guarantees. If one part arrives fast and another takes many weeks. You have no way to return the part during the return window. Should it be defective. Overrall, the third party importer is an unreliable source. To save perhaps 10%.

Personally, I would only deal with companies which keep stock in your country. I know Amazon does (those listed as Prime). As I am not in India I do not know the local market to make recommendations outside of Amazon.

i would rather pay those 10% instead of waiting. You are free to suggest me anything from amazon. I will take care of the local market by comparing.

Thanks a lot for digging all this stuff for me, very much appreciated.
Seems like i have to extend my budget a little more.

One more thing, i either want the Nzxt s340 elite or corsair 460x, just suggest me which one should i pick. Been digging a lot about these two but no one has a clear explanation and no straight comparison between these two.

First of all majority of the Amazon India prices are inflated. You should always take a quotation locally before placing an order on Amazon. If you are in Delhi side, navigating and bargaining at Nehru Place will easily alleviate the price by atleast 10k. In Kolkata side, MD Computer gives you best deals at Dalhousie.
That said this is how your setup should look like. All quality parts around your price point.

Please refrain buying anything from global store, though the prices are cheap but global store doesn't provide any warranty in india. If you don't care about warranty then and only you should buy from global store.
And no i don't wanna buy a 1060 because that card is not future proof, whereas rx 480 has much better vulkan API and DX 12 support and is 11-12% faster than 1060. And according to latest benchmarks both cards are neck to neck when it comes to Dx 11.

Thanks Bhai, but i am still gonna stick to s340 elite or corsair 460x, theres no way i am lowering my budget here. If you could just suggest me one out of these two with proper pros and cons that would be much appreciated.

The above things could be have been helpfull, if the things weren't from global store, no warranty.

The above parts and prices are approximation of what you should be looking for. As I have mentioned above, no point purchasing Amazon unless you dont have another choice. And you always have another choice. You just need to find out.
Starting point would be to seek prices locally before trying online stores.
As for the case, both are good but the S340 is something I have known for a while as i have built a system in it. Very spacious with nice cable management and alluring tempered glass. The elite version should be similar with minor modifications. So my vote goes for the S340.

Finally i have decided these products:

CPU: i5 7600k (300$)
Motherboard: Asus Strix Z270 F Gaming (224$)
Cooler: Cooler master Hyper 212x (45$)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz (105$)
SSD: https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/kingston-uv400-240gb-ssd-suv400s37240g-tlc-marvell-88ss1074/ (88$)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (86$)
PSU: https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/antec-edg-750-750w-80-plus-gold-power-supply-smps/ (127$)
Card: MSI Gaming X Rx 480 (400$)
CASE: NZXT S340 elite (135$)

Total: (1509$) ot(100,688.0 inr)

Looks like a good list.

By the way. Here is a comparative list of the NZXT s340 and Corsair 460x.
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?CompareItemList=-1%7C11-139-082%5E11-139-082%2C11-146-198%5E11-146-198

The 460x is roomier. It supports a larger air cooled heatsink or larger radiator for water cooling. It supports two additional case fans. It supports longer video cards 370mm vs 334mm.

Basically, the Corsair Crystal Series 460x is a higher end case. The NZXT H440 is a closer match in build quality. Although the H440 offers even more room for a GPU and more drive bays.

As far as my in store impressions go. The s340 looks cheap and flimsy. Although I liked their looks online. Actually seeing it in person was a let down. The similar NZXT H440 looks top notch though. Very solid build quality. The 460x looks quite impressive. All that glass gives me pause. When I think about how it will keep building up in the front. Before it is filtered.

PSU is not good. Get this instead... http://mdcomputers.in/index.php?route=product/product&path=68&product_id=4245

Not sure why you are going for that card when you have cheaper options.

you are talking about getting a 1070 instead, it will cost me 10k more than the rx480.The 1070 that you have suggested above is 30k and is from global global store, no warranty can't take any chances.
Thanks for the PSU suggestion. I do want a 1070 but i am tight on my budget and for a 1070 i have to get some of the cheaper parts and i don't want to do so. Like getting a cheaper mobo, cheaper case and 1 tb harddisk. It's not that i have thought about it but something inside doesn't letting me to do so.
Though i work at ubisoft but i don't have that much of savings.

Man you are getting confused,S340 and S340 elite are two different cases. S340 elite has a full tampered glass.

wait what? now you are suggesting me a 1060 why? there is no ws\ay i am getting a 1060 over a rx480.
rx480 ftw.

1060 is actually better in gaming benchmarks. These two cards are equal to each other and in some titles the 480 shines where DX12 is concerned, but in most other games, 1060 beats the 480 comfortably. And when you have an equal card which is far less expensive, it is always a wise choice to get that.
I am sure every one in this thread will agree. A 1060 at $300 is better deal than 480 at $400. That money can be better spent elsewhere. Rest, its your decision.
