Hello! Quick question for the community, is it worth delidding a 6700k? I'm planning on picking one up on Wednesday and I want the utmost performance of the chip so is it worth it? If so what thermal compound/adhesive should I use to get optimal results? Any tips are also greatly appreciated!

I just decided my 7700K last weekend using CLU and the Rockit delid tool. It actually went really smoothly and I ended up knocking 15 degrees of my CPU temps. a 5.0 OC at 1.350v was rock solid, but giving me temps that peaked at 89-90c before the delid. After the delid my temps now peak at 75-76c at the same settings. This is with a swiftech H320x Prestige for cooling.

So in my experience, if you're willing to take the risk it's worth it. I went into it knowing that if I messed up, i'd be throwing down another $350 to buy a new CPU.
