Hello all,

I just bought a Titan X(Maxwell) for my rig. The Titan X has a 8-pin power connector and a 6-pin power connector. I know that I have to plug into both the 6 and 8 pin connectors for the GPU to power on. I have a Corsair RM750 PSU(pictured below) that has all 6+2 PCI-E power outputs.

My first question is, if this PSU is ok to power the Titan X. I believe it is but I just want to confirm.

The main thing I'm wondering is if I can use some time of 6+2-pin to 6-pin PCI-E power cable adapter(if such exists) to connect to the Titan X? The reason I'm asking is because I want the build to look clean. If I use a 6+2-pin cable, I'll have an eyesore because of the extra 2 unused pins dangling about. Should I buy a new PSU with 6-pin output as well as 6+2-pin output?

Any suggestions?

Solution
It's a Type 3 modular cable used in many of Corsair's PSU models. You can buy a type 3 modular cable with the +2 pin portion and just cut the +2-pin portion off. The +2-pin portion does not carry any power.

Would you really buy new PSU only to not have 2 unused pins 'dangling' about?
Simpler option would be to just buy new cables since your PSU is modular, if you insist on aesthetics so much.

Actually yes, yes I would if it was the only option(I take great pride in my work :p). But, as I see here, it is not the only option. Now if I could only find this 6-pin to 8-pin PSU cable for my RM750(preferably sleeved). I saw the item in the link that ko888 posted but it seemed to be for the AX1200 Corsair PSU, not that I'm sure it'd matter.
