A very long time ago I opened a broken computer to get some parts from it. At the time, I was stupid and after removing the RAM stick from it, I touched it a few times and I left it somewhere, but I'm not sure if it got damaged by static electricity.

I have an old computer that works, but it doesn't have much memory in it. It looks like the damaged RAM stick is compatible with the motherboard on this computer, but I'm afraid to use it in this computer.

If the RAM stick got damaged by static electricity, will it damage my computer if I put it in, or am I just too worried? Thank you.
