New Build ethernet problems

I recently just built my first pc with my buddy this last week. After we put everything together it worked like a charm. I moved my pc today from his house to mine. After I got everything set up at my house and it booted I realized I was not connected to the internet with my Ethernet cable plugged in. (Keep in mind when we put it together it connected to the internet via Ethernet at his house.) it doesn't not even register that the Ethernet cord is plugged in. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, turning the pc off for 30 minutes with everything unplugged. It won't even connect with a wireless adapter either saying the password was incorrect even though it isn't. Really need some help.

Two things:

First: Are you using a build in (motherboard) adapter or a PCI-x ethernet adapter. If the latter, check to see if it is still securely seated.

Second: If it worked at your buddy's house that is good. However your home (house) network will probably require you to reconfigure the network adapter for your home network. Doublecheck the network adapter's configuration and be sure to save it.
