i have a stable running computer, and one day my computer would not boot up. the motherboard showed error code 55, and google said it was a memory code. so i pulled out the older of my 2 pairs of ram sticks. and tried getting my computer to start up. after some rearranging, and a few tries where the power would continuously cycle on and off for about 1 second. i managed to get my computer to boot up again with memory installed in slots B1 and B2. i thought maybe just my memory was bad, so i purchased an identical pair of ram as the working pair and my computer went back to the error code 55. swapping them with the working pair, and only populating B1 and B2 my computer started, but would not start with A1 and A2 populated--either alone or with B1 and B2. long story longer, i can get my computer started with the b slots, but it will not start with anything in the a-slots. the only thing i could find is something about a cooler installed, but my cpu only uses the plastic tabs for the fan.

Solution
If the board has DDR3 capability along with dual channel memory mode the default slots on both for the first matched pair of memory sticks should be Dimm A1 and Dimm B1 .

Once you have the system up and running enter the bios setup and check the mode set for memory population of the slots of the motherboard.

The two mode settings in the bios, can be ganged or unganged mode.
One mode uses the memory channel at 64 bits wide classed as single channel memory mode.
Where as the other mode uses a configuration of 128 bits wide classed as dual channel memory mode Boshk11.

Set the memory setting to 128bits wide.
And check that Xmp memory mode is set to enabled.
save the changes made in the bios before you exit it.

Try populating the last...

Try populating the last two memory slots of the motherboard with the new dual channel kit along with the old set and see if the system boots after a reset with all four memory slots filled.

i dont know. all i know is that for the past 2 years, it has worked fine with all 4 slots populated. now it only works when i have memory in B1 and B2. the computer will not boot up with a single stick of ram in either A1 or A2. only with it in B1 or B2. when memory is loaded into either of the A slots, there is a error code 55 on the MB.
