Should i get a i5 6600k with z170 chip or i5 7600k with z270 chip? (have 1070 8gb sc card)

i am in the process of building my first computer and i bought a evga 1070 8gb superclocked card and i am wondering which pair would be better, i am looking to overclock my card too. i read that the i57600k clocks better but should be paired with the z270 chip for maxiumum performance

If you're going to buy new you might as well buy NEW. Regardless if the increase is negligible. z270 with a 7600k. I see people buying new parts and they go with CPU's that are 3 generations behind, makes me scratch my head.
