Hi team,

sorry if my thread is spammy one, but maybe you could paste some links to already active or solved threads.

usecase:
home router (lan + wifi), NAS, minidlna, hypervizor, 24/7

so I need QUIET box, YES I know, HDD will work quite loudly, but I would like to make it as quiet as possible.

What I have:
case
Fractal design Node 304

Motherboard
Supermicro x11ssv-q

Processor:
i7-6700T

Disks:
3x HGST HDN726060ALE614
ir 1x ssd

I need:
RAM, PSU, cooler

I think about:
cooler:
Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP BK002.

PSU:
I totally don't know, but what I have read that in cheap model capacitors die if it works 24/7.
some years ago I have made assumption, to buy PSU twice I need ( If i need 200Watt so I buy 400+ watt) it worked, BUT I have other issue, it works quite noisy... I need it quiet and safe :)
I think about: beQuiet BN230 or Zalman ZM700-LX. Would it be ok?

RAM:
I think about Kingston HyperX Impact 2x16GB 2133MHz DDR4 CL13 SODIMM

---

What do you think?

Also, should I have Video card? Or it will have integrated in CPU or motherboard? I think it will have, but I already made such mistake :D

P.S. wifi card will o over USB3 :)

using the tool on this web site , and taking in consideration what you are using t this time the PSu calculator came up with;

OuterVision PSU Calculator part list
Motherboard: Desktop CPU: 1 x Intel Core i7-6700T CPU Speed: 2800MHz
CPU Utilization: 90%
Storage: 1 x SSD
Storage: 3 x SATA 7.2K RPM
Optical Drive: 1 x DVD-RW/DVD+RW Drive
Other Device: 1 x USB 3.0 Device
Keyboard: 1 x Standard Keyboard
Mouse: 1 x Standard Mouse
Fan: 4 x 120mm
Computer Utilization: Always On (24/7)

Load Wattage: 191W
Recommended Wattage: 241W

To answer a few questions,

this is a servers why put any video card on it, the motherboard you mention has already integrated Intel HD video graphics and should be most sufficient for a server type environment: Supermicro x11ssv-q :Video Output: 1 HDMI, 1 DP (DisplayPort), 1 DVI - I 1 Intel® HD Graphics 3 Independent Displays

The calculator therefor suggest 240w, I personally would push that to a nice quality 450w or even 500w power supply. Mostly to ensure reliability and ability to expand if need be.

I don't know how many Wi-Fi device you intend to support with that USB dongle but you will realize quickly it will be insufficient for your job my friend, I would suggest another WIFI Network card to do the job properly. but if you only have 1-2 device connecting to it, should be fine, but I see NAS, and you will find that once film has started everything else in the house will not run very well on the Wi-Fi if at all, with that USB dongle..

I suggest you test it, but I suggest Wireless Network Adapter: Asus PCE-AC88 PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter ($112.99 @ B&H)

the ram is fine as it is the 32GB max your motherboard can handle anyways

Thank you The Paladin for an answer.

Regarding Video:
I have a lesson, I bought one motherboard with video output ports BUT it had VO video card integrated, it only supported CPU with Video subsystem in it. That's why i ask to double check it :)

Regarding PSU, yup, that what I was thinking, but maybe you know which would be quiet enough to be 24/7? So beQuiet BN230 or Zalman ZM700-LX. Would it be quiet enough in a long term?

Regarding wifi, I do not have many clients, max 5 in most cases max 3.
I plan to test wifi with: Alfa Network AWUS036AC Long-Range Dual-Band AC1200 Wireless USB 3.0 Wi-Fi Adapter w/2x 5dBi Removable External Antennas for Extreme Distance Connectio

At the moment I have TL-WN781N PCI Express : Qualcomm Atheros AR93xx Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01) but it do not have possibility to setup 2 SSID's on it :(
