This is a project I've been working on for a few weeks now. So I built a custom glass top desk. I am planning to fit my gaming rig into it. I am hesitant to do so because I can't decide on a fan layout for best airflow. I know the best bet is for water cooling, but It's currently outside of my budget. I'm looking for opinions to see what would give greater airflow while being able to incorporate water cooling later. (Holes cut for fans used as spots for radiators.)
I have not decided on the computer's layout yet because I wanted to figure out fan locations first.

Between the glass and base there's a 5.5" clearance so up to 120mm sized fans can be used along the sides, and I am not above cutting holes into the bottom for larger fans.

Since it is apparently tall enough to take 120mm fans, just cut out space on the back wall for 2 of them side by side.
Exhausting out the back.
Later, when you incorporate the liquid cooling, just remove those two and put a 240mm rad in that space.

2 x 120mm fan holes somewhere on the front or sides for intake. Don't have to be next to each other.

And a cutout (or grid of holes) for the PSU intake fan, wherever that will be placed.

1. how are you intending to integrate the computer inside the table, ie: casing it or laying it out bare inside to be seen under glass table. cause then everything under the glass IS the computer case and there for the entire area is to be considered in your air flow issue. so you don't have heat pocket.

2. looking at your table work when showing the picture oif the legs, now I am not a wood worker, but considering hardware notably weight of monitors and everything else, I think you legs to your table are not likely sufficient for the expected weight of it all. (carried weight on top of it own weight). But I could be just as easily be wrong.

I plan for everything to be laid bare under the glass.
As for the weight support. I had about 200 pounds sit on it for a few days. I'm not seeing any bowing in the middle, so for now it seems fine. We shall see for the long term. More support can be added later if needed.

Pictures can be deceiving, but you tested it, @ 200lbs I think that will cover any hardware on it. well done.

so if the hardware is not "sequestered .. i.e. partitioned off" , then you will need to consider the entire area ... looking at the U shaped design I would suggest 2 fans at the rear of desk , probably 80mm will fit (don't knowhow tall your backboard is. ) you should consider the location of the power supply as well, most are draw in and push out boxes, so maybe this will be mounted with draw in from bottom of table and exit to a side ?
the rest will depend on direction the motherboard will orient, but looks like side fans and rear fans will be your most likely answer.
