Hi, this will be my first time ever upgrading a processor I currently have a Intel cpu g3240 @ 3.1 ghz and I am upgrading to I7 -4770s 3.1 ghz quad core I am buying this from ebay without a cooler do I need to purchase a new cooler or will my old one work ok? I am mostly using it fr Team Fortress and Left for Dead games but not sure for future games.

You can try it, it will fit in terms of lining up with the mounting holes. Depending on what temps you get it may work ok for the time being with lighter loads especially given the i7 you're talking about is a lower power version with a reduced tdp. If you find temps rising under heavier loads (climbing above 70-80c while gaming) then you'll probably want to consider an aftermarket cooler like a cryorig h7 or hyper 212 evo.
