I have fibre optic internet and if I speed test on my pc i get about 36mbps, normally the internet is really good, but the past couple of days whenever I download something the internet drops * low, like I'm trying to download the sims 4 for my girlfriend, which is an 11gb download and its saying it going to take 14-23 hours, and when I speed test while its downloading it drops to 1.8mbps please help its doing my nut in.
I'm with talktalk and my computers specs are

AMD FX-8350
GIGABYTE GA-990X
8gb 1866mhz HyperX Fury
EVGA GTX 750
Corsair CX-600
500gb Seagate hard drive

<Language, please. Thanks>

No, I have consoles and phones.etc but even when there's nothing else on the download is still slow

have you noticed the slowdown on these other devices too?

No, infact I've just done a speed test from both my phone and computer and the computer is recieving 5mbps and the phone is recieving 35mbps

if this is the case then the problem can be pointed to your computer so it's possibly your USB wifi dongle
