Okay, I think this should theoretically work but wanted some opinions, So here's what we got:

1x8gb DDR3 1600, Timing: 9-9-9-24, Cas Latency 9, Voltage 1.5V
1x8gb DDR3 1333, Timing: 9-9-9-24, Cas Latency 9, Voltage 1.5V

Since the Timing / CAS / Voltage is all the exact same, this shouldn't cause any issues, but rather the 1600 would just be bogged down to 1333 which I would rather have the 16gb then the slight speed enhancement with just 8gb

That looks good.
If you really want to be certain, run memtest86+ for a complete pass with NO errors.
You also need to look at the RAM chips on the modules. If the chips are different densities, i.e. one module has more RAM chips than the other, they won't work together.

But if it was free, you haven't lost anything so give it a whirl. And buying another one that matches may or may not work due to manufacturing process variations. That's why they are sold in pairs as kits.
