So i got my other question resolved, but now i have another question.

I work from home often and need a VPN connection to access my remote desktop at work. Company uses Forticlient to conenct with configs provided..

it worked fine in the morning and after i installed the new router the VPN won't connect.

I disabled the firewall on ASUSWRT and I can't see anything else that might prevent the vpn to connect.

I tried the trouble shooting efforts mentioned in the forticlient knowledge base:
1) Download wan-miniport-repair-v2-x64.exe and wan-miniport-install-x64.exe from the VPNHosting site.

2) Perform backup of actual FortiClient configuration and uninstall FortiClient. Once the FortiClient is removed restart computer.

2a) After reboot run cmd.exe as Administrator and execute netsh int ip reset
2b) Execute wan-miniport-repair-v2-x64.exe, reboot the computer, then execute wan-miniport-install-x64.exe
2c) Reboot the computer and perform installation of FortiClient with config restore

didn't work.... i am working from home monday so i need this addressed without the assistance of my IT department

Thank you

Just guessing but I would suspect you have to have the vpn helper or whatever its called enabled. If you are using ipsec or pptp these use other protocols than tcp or udp. These are PROTOCOLS not ports but have similar issues as ports do. There must be a special feature enabled on the router to do this. You may also have to port forward some ports.

You should be able to run wireshark on your PC and see the vpn setup, it should give you a clue as to what stage it is failing at.

.......I see you updated as I was keying. SSL should not have any issues it appears as https to your router
