Hi everyone, I just finished building my first gaming PC yesterday, so I'm very new to the temp-monitoring thing and just about everything related to PC hardware. Here is my situation: My BIOS's CPU idle temp reading is different from both HWMonitor and Real Temp's CPU idle temp readings. My BIOS reads 44-46 C while both HWMonitor and Real Temp read 28-32 C. Which one is correct?Additionally, what is good idle temp for my CPU?[FYI, I have found some articles concerning this issue but I did not understand]. Additionally, What does socket temp vs core temp??
Here is my rig specs:
i7 7700K
ASUS GeForce Strix GTX 1070 8GB
Corsair H80i v2 liquid cooler

Solution
The temp in the BIOS will be higher than in Windows because the BIOS is making sure the CPU will boot in any condition, so there's a stress being placed on it in BIOS. Both temps are correct. Yours idle temps are good.
