Hello

I've started getting fps drops in recent times. Did not have this problem before (Started about a week ago). After having checked using MSI Afterburner i can see that the CPU is constantly at 100% (When I'm in game in csgo and r6), but when I am in the menu it stands at about 40-60%. But the game's CPU usage is 35-40% in Task Manager. So it seems that there is something running in the background.

GPU usage is between 65-70 (in game in r6)

The temperature of the CPU is between about 35-40 degrees, and the temperature of the GPU is between about 50-65 degrees.

I moved the game to my SSD and I got rid of some lagg but now 2-3 days after im getting more and worse fps drops and the CPU remains at 100%

In Just Cause 3 is the CPU 75-80% and GPU on 90+ (in game)

I think it's strange because I have nothing open in the background (what I know) and the processor should not bottle-neck the graphic card.

Has run a full scan with Norton to see if there would be any virus but found nothing. Also pulled out the internet cable to see if there were some miners in the background.

Have also reinstalled video drivers with no improvement.

What could be the problem?

GPU GTX 1070

CPU i5 6600K

Games: Rainbow Six siege, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Just Cause 3

Hi there, I had once a similar problem with my i5 6600k, to solve this i Just launched the task mannager (once I noticed my cpu was at full load), At the task mannager If you click at CPU, the task mannager will show what is using your cpu, on my case it was something with Windows Audio process (Don´t remenber the exact name), was eating around 30% my CPU. I just killed the process and somehow it fixed. I would aswell recommend overcloocking your cpu, there is no point having a K processor if not overcloocked  just check your taskmannager and find out what is using your cpu. having once a name of process you can work around to find to what is this process linked (programm, virus, Malware... Etc...)

I've checked in task manager before but dident find anything but now when i checked msi activex service was taking 25-30% of my cpu i oppend services.msc and turned it from automatic to manual now some of the lagg is gone but and cpu is still at 100%

a couple friends of mine have i5-6600k as well, their CPU usage doesn't go above 60% when playing CSGO so I guess there's something more in your system eating up your CPU resources.

Try using procexp instead of Task Manager to see which process(es) are using your cpu.

In that case you are getting ~175FPS and both the CPU and GPU are ~90%+. I don't see where the problem is. (unless you are only getting that high FPS because you are looking at a wall.) From your earlier pic half your CPU is idle. So I'm not sure where the problem is.

one good solution is to overcloock the CPU to 4.5 Ghz, I got mine at 4.9 Atm and I can feel a good difference at stock speeds I always get some Hick-ups time to time and it ANNOYS the Sh*t Out of me
