Simple answer is yes.

Most games will bottleneck at 1080p. Higher resolutions won't bottleneck as much. I'd think about overclocking your CPU (w/ an aftermarket cooler, e.g. Cryorig H7, Hyper 212 Evo) until you could afford a newer platform.
