Low frame rate with nvidia 1050

I just bought a new cybertron pc and have been customizing the system quite a bit. Before I get too far into this question, I should go ahead and make it clear that I haven't even started attempting overclocking the CPU or GPU. Although I'm running stock speeds, I think I should be able to achieve higher than 10-13 fps. My hardware specs are given at the end of this message.

It should be noted that this is a brand new installation of windows 10. Before installing the newest drivers, I checked the performance with 3DMark and only got 10-13 fps (with no setting changes). So, I went ahead and installed the latest nvidia drivers and I did not install the Geforce experience program. The version I installed is 378.66. Ran 3DMark again, I only got 10-13 fps (with no setting changes).

So, I started making some setting adjustments. Those adjustments are:

1. Changed windows 10 to use high performance power options

2. In the nvidia control center, under the "Adjust image settings with preview" I ensured that the "Use the advanced 3D image settings" radio button was chosen.

3. Under "Manage 3D settings" I changed the settings for "Power management mode" to "Prefer maximum performance", changed "Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration" to "Single display performance mode", and I also turned "Vertical sync" off.

All other settings are default settings. After making those changes, I ran 3DMark again. Again, got the same results of 10-13 fps. Although the time spy benchmark looks nice, I still get a little bit of stutter.

Can someone help me out? I feel like I've tried everything. This issue even prompted me to re-install windows 10 discussed earlier in this message. Please any help will be much, much appreciated!!!

Solution
It's very likely that's the proper performance since the GPU throttling is pretty rare.

You can easily find software like MSI Afterburner that shows the GPU frequency and GPU usage. With VSYNC OFF, most games are usually bottlenecked by the GPU so it should show both:
a) above base frequency (1700MHz or whatever), and
b) 90%+ usage

If that's true your GPU is the bottleneck, working properly, and thus improving things requires a better graphics card.

*There ARE lots of games that run fine on a GTX1050, even games like Crysis 3 if you tweak carefully. I ran that on a GTX680 2GB card.

I'm not 100% sure of the numbers a 1050 should be getting for the timespy benchmark, but I'm pretty sure your 1050 is lacking the GPU power you wanted out of a GPU.

the 1050 is a very low end GPU and is only meant for low end gaming.

You are also running a very very tough benchmark, that is intended to stress even the most powerful modern computers.

One other minor issue I noticed is you only are using one stick of RAM, you are loosing out on the advantages of dual channel memory.

*edit* this might serve as a good reason to thoroughly research your pre-made purchases. Your GPU is weak. and the RAM is not ideal, You spent too much of the budget on that CPU and not enough on a good GPU.

Downvote me all you want, I'm correct. I mentioned why you numbers are low and how to improve them.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't been using 3DMark for very long. At the end of the benchmark, I see that you can compare to other scores. When going to compare though, I only see five or so other setups and their scores. How do I pull up other scores with the same CPU/GPU as me?
