Hello all,

Here's the background to my troubles. My pc was running fine and fast a few months ago. I have a Intel 6600k and a GTX 980 Gigabyte Xtreme. I previously had only a 1TB hard drive. Windows kept crashing at one point and going to a bsod stating "System Thread Exception Not Handled." I eventually just had to get a new drive and operating system. So I got an OCZ RD400 m.2 to go with my MSI SLI Plus mobo and then a 2tb hard drive. I got windows installed on my M.2. It was working fine, but then eventually speed started declining. Now my pc can hardly manage Minecraft without stuttering along. When I play games like FarCry 4 is does fine. When I play Rocket League, it will freeze and show a random color for roughly 5 seconds then go back to the game, but the game is tearing at that point and I always have to restart it. There was one instance where it Blue Screened and said "System Thread Exception." Then it restarted right away and worked okay.

My main question is Why does it do this? I've checked the drivers of everything in Device Manager and it said everything was up to date. I've updated my BIOS and am using the latest driver from Nvidia (however nvidia share still doesn't work with that patch). I have tried other drivers and re-seating my graphics card and that didn't work. My graphics card also runs quite a bit hotter than it used to. It runs around 50C at idle when before it was roughly 35-40C. The back plate is also quite hot to the touch. I should also mention that all the games I play have V-Sync on and these problems still occur. I even turned off V-Sync and the problems persisted. And startup time isn't slow. It is around 5 seconds. It's just the games seem to be running slower than usual.

Is this just my Graphics card saying "F U. Replace me"? Or is it a driver thing? Windows thing? Should I just throw this pc off a cliff and jump after it? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance and reading through all of this. I just wanted y'all to have the whole background and problems I have had.

The problem seemed to go away as soon as I asked the question. Sorry for not responding to your questions. I was not notified of your comment. I think it had something to do with GeForce because after an update it has been running fine and as fast as it should. The problems no longer exist as far as i'm aware. I did check temps and it was reasonable and still is for the card.
