I also forgot to mention I impulse bought an NZXT Elite Case because it was cheap on eBay and have a system where I have a core 2 duo, and a gt 730 is this a significant upgrade or should I wait till Christmas and is all that compatible with a nzxt elite? (Sorry if this was confusing)

It is a significant upgrade from the C2D and the GT 730 is nothing compare to 1050 Ti (which is roughly equal to a GTX 960)
GTX 1050 Ti~GTX960(with lower power draw)>GTX 950 (~~RX460)>>GTX 750 Ti >>>>GT 730).
