Is there any point in waiting extra for AMD's new APUs?

I'm planning a PC build for my dad, made for regular usages such as web browsing, streaming, lighter work such as Word and Excel, etc.
However this build us supposed to last quite a while and give him a flawless experience in the tasks he will do.
The build will probably be done sometime between April and May

At this moment, the main computer will consist of:
- Pentium G4620 or G4600 (will use the internal graphics)
- 8 GB DDR4 RAM
- Motherboard with either H110, H170, B150, or B250 (BIOS compabilities will be taken care of)
Then a 250GB Samsung 850 Evo

However people have told me elsewhere that AMD may release their new APUs soon (how soon, I don't know).
But given that there are no hints so far of them, I can only suppose thet won't be launched until sometime in the summer or so (perhaps along the final Ryzen chips?).

So is there any point in waiting extra for those chips? I mean the Pentium chips have pretty good value IMO, so I'm skeptica that AMD will provide similar performance at such lower price that it's worth the wait.

What do you think?

well I been around researching laptops for a buddy and found more then not they all sucked in his price range. giving the price of amd and there new top of the line cpus who wouldn't think twice and say hay there apu's could be sweet. let alone they will be released Q2 just before summer; so don't even push for an A12. right now my buddy can get a decent amd apu based laptop for under 400 refurbished; I bet the new apu based laptops will go for not much more new. remember what we saw with the 400 series gpus from amd; low low prices. i am even going to stick it out

Don't worry about waiting for new AMD CPUs because they won't be as cheap as your current choices for processor. Go for the G4620 since its like less than 5 bucks extra for 100MHz. For motherboard just go for a basic board since your father probably will never even see the bios in it or the things that it can do. The RAM and SSD choices are perfect. Just make sure you calculate in a little extra on the price just in case you start building it and need to add something else you didn't think of.
