I know this is a stupid question because the only way is probably using sandpaper. I recently broke my deathadder so I have to use my old glossy sensei raw from steelseries. I really want to remove the glossy layer because it gets sticky after two minutes of use.
I was wondering if there is a way to remove the gloss layer without using sandpaper because I don't have access to that.

You could use steel wool or a file to rough up the mouse's surface.

That said: let's go back a step: why does the mouse become sticky?

Was the mouse colored or otherwise painted before?

Sweaty hands - may be a medical problem.

Maybe the steel series product is actually some knock-off counterfeit product - substandard material that gets sticky no matter what.

That is my thought if the problem is only mouse related.
