Hello guys

I like to upgrade my pc the next time. I use it only for gaming and using a 60hz screen

My current hardware :

CPU: Intel i5 2400 @ 3,1ghz
GPU: MSI GTX 960 2gb
MB: Asus P8H67
RAM: 2x Kingston DDR3 4gb
PSU: Zalman ZM600-hp (600w)

I dont need a "hight end" gaming machine with the GTX 1080 or ti.

I just want to run current and future games in max details on 60 fps min (See my 60hz screen).

I think for the GPU upgrade i should/can wait for the VEGA GPU´s, or ?

But for the rest (MB,CPU,RAM,PSU) what do you think ?
Upgrade my current RAM with a DDR3 again is pointless i think, so i need a DDR4 MB anyway.

Waiting for Ryzen 5 ? Or get R7 now or the I7 7700k ?

Maybe you got any ideas,

rgds

Don't pay Extra for a cpu $349.99 but buy the best possible graphics card you can,Only buy I7 7700k if you plan to keep more than 2 years because prices are about to change and Intel are going to start a price war with AMD . A 1060 will do everything you need even a 1050 ti is decent and a 1070 will blow your mind on a normal gaming monitor they cant support real big res and big HZ anyway ,spend more on graphics you wont bottle neck a Intel Core i5-7600K and thats 100 cheaper to spend on graphics you only need 8 gigs of ram for gaming no game uses more than that and speed is not really important mid speed ,the rest is all good

I agree Thats what my first thought but I thought he wanted to upgrade ,It will cost much less he has to buy a card anyway and will only slightly bottleneck but the performance will be there anyway for what he wants and if he wants it to look faster buy a beautiful new case and fancy periferals,It will look flash cost less and play evey game ,Get a 1070 you world will be gaming heaven you will want to kiss it

Hello

Thanks for the fast reply. U just think i should get the 1070 or maybe its an idea for waiting until VEGA will released ?

My i5 2400 will be fine the the 1070 ?

I got an Sharkoon DG 7000 case in red, with 3 120mm LED fans, so maybe the 1070 from MSI will be an good idea ? Also for the "look"

Yep I would. I would get the MSI with red led yes or gigabyte gaming with RGB or if you want balls out performance go the strix OC gamin not the OC its a little more expense and it clocked the fastest overall ,I am getting the 1060 version ,if Vega takes too long or is too expensive because I use a 1080p monitor and I don't need any thing faster, its a waste past that , the msi and the asus strix are same price asus is faster msi looks better in a red case but you can make the lighting red on the strix ,its looks or performance

IT will ,IT definately will , but it wont be enough to warrant getting a new chip and mother board for what 10 fps or so, thats 500 at least plus a graphics card any way

The 1070 is a lot better than the 1060 and anything that amd currently offers. the 1070 is way more than enough for 1080p right now, so you should be fine for years.

Which 1070 from MSI u would take ? Gaming X , Z , Armor ? Or the normal without a 2nd name ?

As well. My PSU is and old one, Zalman ZM-600-HP, i think at the moment i got an 6+2 Pin on my GPU. Maybe i get a new PSU ?

For the 1070 I would go for an evga but the MSI gaming series is also nice. believe your psu is made by FSP which is good so I don't think you need to upgrade that.

Sorry for that question. Example the EVGA 1070 Hybrid or FTW Gaming ACX 3.0, need 2x 8 pin. My PSU got 2x 6 pin.

My current graphicscard are with 6+2 pin. So i need a 2nd 6+2 pin adapter for the evga ?

Normaly i can handle that with adapter, or not ?

Well most gtx 1070's need a total of 8 pin cable to be powered. you can use a 6+2 pin as a 8 pin.
if you want the ones that you use 2x 8 pins then you probably will have to get a new psu that will have 2 8 pin connectors.

The MSI Gaming X and gaming Z need 1x 6 Pin and 1x 8(6+2) pin. They both should go on my old PLU, when it has 2x 6pin, or ? One normal and one with an adapter

If your psu only has one 6+2 pin, then the only msi gpu you could power is the armor series or those with blower style cooler.

My PSU has 2x 6 pin . Atm my graphicscard (960) runs with and 6+2 adapter. So that was my question if i can use the current PSU with one 6 pin and one 6+2.

Then yes, an MSI gaming series can be powered by one 6 pin and another 6+2 pin connector

Okay - Thanks four your(all) replys and help.

I will check both cards, Gaming X and Gaming Z, and maybe one of the EVGA, have to look before what connectors they need

UPDATE: Im now between the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming Z and the EVGA 1070 FTW.

The MSI card i can handle with my PSU (1x8 pin and 1x 6 Pin) the EVGA needs 2x 8 Pin (I dont know if i can handle that too with 2 6+2 adapter. My PSU has only 2 6 Pins.)

Problem with MSI.. Since i updated my WIN7 to WIN10 the MSI Gaming App (For the RGB LED) dont run. It cant be started on that system, dont know why.. So i prefer the EVGA, but still the question about the PIN Connectors
