Is this a good build for a first time builder?

Finally got to grips with what I want and have made this build in an Amazon wishlist. I want it for gaming on 1080p monitor (144Hz in mind although I don't have it right now). I don't really want to OC but OC-able components weren't that much more expensive. Is there anything anyone thinks I should downgrade? I really don't want suggestions on upgrading anything at this point as it's already pushing my budget.

Intel Core i7 6700K Processor (4 GHz, 4 Core, 8 Threads, 8 MB cache, LGA1151 Socket Box)

ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB DUAL OC White VR Ready Graphics Card - Black

Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard

Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz CL15 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Kit - Black

NZXT CA-S340MB-GB - Source 340 Midi-Tower Case - Blue Window

Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB 2.5 inch Solid State Drive - Black

WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch

EVGA 650 W G2 GOLD 80+ Modular PC Power Supply Unit

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Air CPU Cooler "RR-212E-16PK-R1, 4 x Heatpipe, 1x 120mm PWM Fan, Intel/AMD"

Windows 10 Home 32-bit/64-bit English International

Comes to about £1,350. Not buying until at least the summer (next steam sale) so hopefully prices will have dropped by then.

Good, solid build, pretty well all top notch parts, so you've obviously spent some time researching it, I'd keep the wishlist for now and change nothing.

BUT...
Also keep an eye out for future AMD Ryzen releases along with price changes, both in the CPU and GPU markets.
Right now Ryzen is doing very well and has added some much needed competition into the CPU market but ATM only the big 8 core parts are available, the 4 core parts may stir things up even more on release later this year.

Also, again later this year AMD is releasing it's much awaited Vega high end GPUs and they'll (probably) stir the market up again, Nvidia has had no competition in the upper end for a couple of years now so if Vega is as good as promised and AMD...

Also, again later this year AMD is releasing it's much awaited Vega high end GPUs and they'll (probably) stir the market up again, Nvidia has had no competition in the upper end for a couple of years now so if Vega is as good as promised and AMD don't overcharge we may very well see Nvidia prices drop on release.

In point of fact prices of the GTX1080 have already dropped over here in the UK and USA, with several fine custom parts falling below the £500 mark for the first time so further prices cuts are possible by summer.

So, in short: Keep that wishlist but also keep abreast of developments, you may be able to save money on the current excellent build or upgrade its performance by the time you actually decide to 'add to basket'. ;)

As long as your not doing any video editing or streaming then a i5 would be more then enough.

Black/White theme build. No CPU OC.
