Have not built my own rig since my last one a few years ago.

Plan for month of March is to build a desktop with:
ASUS PRIME Z270-K LGA1151 and Intel core i5-7600 or i5-7600K

No need for overclocking, but need a lot of memory for my apps.

May I have your views especially as to:
(1) Kingston Technology HyperX FURY 32 GB DDR4 (HX424C15FBK2/32) [15-15-15-35]
vs.
(2) Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) (CMK32GX4M2A2400C14) [14-16-16-31]

I'm going with two sticks so that if I need more memory, I don't throw away sticks to add the additional memory.

BTW, any recommendation for a graphics card (just one). No need for a very high end or 4K, but I’m thinking 128 bit & 4gb GDDR5?

Yes, I will start with a new SSD for my "C:" drive. Plan is: MyDigitalSSD BPX 80mm (2280) M.2 PCI Express

And, I currently have a Samsung SSD 840 PRO Series 256 GB on my older PC, which I'll move over with all my data files.

If you're not going to overclock is the i5 7600 fine, the difference on max turbo on all cores is just 100mhz with the i5 7600K which could be achieved for both on a "Z" board. The 7600 does 4.1ghz the 7600K does 4.2ghz.

Get a nice cooler, running all cores on max turbo is still some kind of overclocking. The Cryorig M9i is most of the times a good option for not too much money.

I would pick some higher speed ram when looking at a "Z270 board, something in the region of 2666->3000mhz range which the memory controller should be able to handle.
For the choices given are there little differences, the Corsair has a lower cas latency, the Kingston lower tRCD , tRP and tRas latencies (the second, third and fourth nrs),i don't think there will be...
Although I would strongly recommend you overclock, even if you don't I would still recommend the 7600k because of the .4 Ghz speed difference. Both ram selections are the same, although I wouldn't recommend either. If you're going for 32gb then you might as well go for lightning fast ram (DDR4-4266). Of course the DDR4-2400s will suffice, but you might as well go with something faster for that much memory.
As for the graphics, I would strongly have to recommend passing on a 4gb card. In this day an age 4gb cards are exclusive to budget graphics solutions and at least 6gb GDDR5X is recommended for any system that would need 32GB of ram. My recommendation is a GTX 1070 or a GTX 1080.

So if it has to be 2400MHz just go with Kingston HyperX with CL 14. If you want super fast RAM DDR4 is the right choice which you already made. Now since there's a big variety in RAM modules you need to check for 2 criteria.
-Memory speed (2400MHz is kinda standard with DDR4)
-CL value (the lower the CL the better/faster)

For GPU I'd recommend something like a 1060 or rx470/480. It's cheap, has a ton of vram, you can play pretty much every game on the market lag free on ultra/high settings. Costs you around 200-250€ based on where you live and which model you wanna pick up.
Also the M2 SSD is like mad fast. For what do you need such speeds and ram if I may ask?
Very important:
Check if the RAM you're going to buy, compatible with your cpu and mainboard. XMP is most likely required, else you're not going to reach the given memory clock speed.

About the cpu:
Get the i5 7600k because of the low boost clock speed. You can easily go up to 4,4 GHz without hurting your hardware. Kaby lake is really nice to oc with. If you really want to push the limits, you can even press the 7600k up to 4,8-5GHz

Just look what looks good on the motherboard or fits well under a cpu cooler.

Thanks for the insights. I'm researching the options provided above, though a few seem a bit pricey, nonetheless very nice. I have one monitor = 27", and I use AirParrot to drive my 47" HDTV when I want to show family pictures and videos, so a super fast graphics card may not be on my "must have" list.

When I buy the items, I'l let ya know what I picked.

BTW, I don't how the "Pick as a solution" works so I'll click on one to "close" the thread. So if its not yours don't be taken aback.

Regards and thanks.

In reply to why I need M2 SSD. It’s my personal bit of an indulgence at future proofing. And, I oftentimes run with about 15 windows open and even my browser has about ten windows and about five to eight tabs each. Concurrently, I generally use: MS word, excel, visio, paint.net, Quicken, PDF-Xchange, Silverfast, Abby Fine Reader and as few others. Three printer/scan devices are attached. Oh, and I have an attached external raid real-time (instantaneous) backup for all my documents and pictures and emails
