Hi mates. In the past few months i had some problems with my ram. I usually work with around 300 chrome tabs open. And then, if i want to play a game, i close all the tabs so i dont stress my ram a lot, and then i just play the game. Sometimes, The non-paged pool goes over 12 GB, and i cant play anything, the game lags like there's no tomorrow. And then if i close the game, the PC lags like there is no tomorrow. And the only thing i can do to fix that issue is to restart the PC. It is pretty annoying, even now that i got a 1070 and i cant enjoy all my games.

Solution
try:
clearing the internet cache
running this command in CMD admin
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
run the registry editor and go to the Ndu tab on the side, and change the registry for the start to "4"
and restart after this, and see if it comes back
reinstall the Ethernet drivers

Ignore all other posts in this thread.

This is a known issue with Killer LAN network cards. Update your network card drivers from the manufacturer's website and reboot. All done

still happens when I'm on a board without killer card. updating the drivers didn't do crap for me
I understand that he may have it, but doesn't help other users that come back to visit the forum
and I did say reinstall Ethernet drivers.... not nice bro to ignore everyone else

He has an MSI Z97 motherboard... which has the network card in question. I have seen this exact problem more times than I can possibly count. It's ridiculously easy to diagnose an fix.

The paged pool and non-paged pool are the two portions of the kernel's memory. Clearing the internet cache and killing user processes will do absolutely nothing at all to help.

Hi, I'm pretty sure I don't have anything from Killer (or Spotify or 3rd party antivirus software - other common causes). I'm not a Microsoft 'insider' so can't use PoolMon.exe to check what else it could be. Anybody got any other ideas?

you using Microsoft edge? kill the program in TM and then restart your pc. for me it was my edge that was doing it. if you don't care about your autosave passwords or bookmarks, reset edge.

try it might work

the idea is to locate the cause of the non paged pool

Thanks but unfortunately not using Edge (although impossible to uninstall so could be causing trouble in the background).
