I have been having a rough time deciding whether to upgrade my current PC's graphics card or just getting a new PC and throwing the current one out.

I am on a budget, so I plan on keeping the same processor and motherboard, but of course will need to get a new GPU.

My current motherboard is PCIe 2.0, but the graphics card I am looking for is PCIe 3.0

How much will the PCIe 2.0 slot bottleneck an EVGA GeForce 1050TI? Is it worth paying 150$ for, or should I just buy a new PC altogether? Thank you in advance.

Not much difference. I think 10 to 15% performance difference. Which mobo and CPU you have? Bottleneck depends on your CPU if its very old and weak then it will definitely bottleneck your GPU.

Running an FX-6300 6-core currently, and I'm not too sure on the mobo. I did a tad bit of research a while back and all resources pointed to the 6300+1050ti operating at an okay level, right now I'm just worried about the mobo screwing me over.
