Hello, after a headcache about to change my i7 5820k to a ryzen 1800x, i decided to keep my cpu and overclock it to gain single core performance.

I have an Cooler master Liquid pro 240 (pull/push) this cooler would be enough for oc ing this thing?

I use this chip for both gaming and video encoding, i think this six core processor is a perfect balance betwen single and multi core performance, thats why i dont go for ryzen (full workstation) or sky/kaby lake (full gaming)

So, any advices? :) thanks

First off, yes that cooler is good and sufficient for a nice overclock, simply put: nothing to worry about there.

You really only need to tweak the core voltage and multiplier. A good place to start would be 4.2 GHz on 1.2Volt Vcore. If it runs smoothly and the temperatures are good, you can try increasing the multiplier to 4.3 or 4.4 without changing the voltage. If it starts crashing it means it's unstable, so either go back to the configuration that's stable, or increase the voltage by 0.01V untill stable. I would not exceed 1.3V for everyday use though, unless your temperatures and cooling is very good.

You could also look up a youtube guide if you're confused as to how it is done, alot of good 5820K overclocking guides there.
