1| I think you're referring to overclocking the platform, correct?
2| On that note, what sort of temps are you seeing on your current setup?
3| Speaking of setups, you forgot to include your full system's specs.
4| It'd help us two fold if we knew what you do with your system and what sort of an increase you're looking for .

Sorry, I didn't think I needed to include anything else. I falsely assumed that just including the processor and the fan would suffice. But:

ASUS M5A78L-M
FX-4300
HD 7870 2gb
8gb's ram

I am gaming on the system, mostly CS:GO. I can run the few newer titles just fine and CS:GO is the game I want the improvements on (more fps).

I haven't tried overclocking yet because I have read AMD runs hot and that my motherboard isn't very good. But can I safely overclock it just a bit and squeeze worthwhile performance out of it?

And regarding temps, the only temp I have is MSI Afterburner shows GPU top temp of 70C but that might not be the real temp, atleast that's what I was told in another thread.
