Hi, fair warning im a complete noob when it comes to PC specs and what they do and all that ..
I have have a 240hz monitor on its way and i read somewhere that i need atleast a GTX 1060 to get playable fps. Corsair CX550M, 550W PSU - Intel Core i7-6700 Skylake - Akasa CPU Cooler AK-959CU - Intel TS15A CPU Air Cooler - MSI Z170A PC MATE, Socket-1151 - Crucial DDR4 2133MHz 16GB (2x8GB) - MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB - Samsung PM951 SSD 256GB PCIe - Seagate® Desktop SSHD 1TB. those are my specs, im wondering if i can buy a, lets say GTX 1080. will these parts work well with that graphics card? or do i have to upgrade something else first? and also if anyone has any tips on what parts i should upgrade to get more fps in forexample Ark Survival Evolved. that game kills my fps. Anyway, any tips on what i should upgrade would be much appreciated :)

(still open for tips on what i should upgrade for a noticable difference in performance, if anyone has a recommendation or anything feel free :))

Solution
The GTX 1060 3GB card is about the same as the 970 you already have. The 6GB version is about 10% better than what you have neither is enough of a upgrade to spend the money on.
I would get the monitor and play it with what you have before buying a new video card.
A get 1070/or 1080 should work with what you already have.
