Laptop won't boot with 2x8gb RAM after Windows 10 anniversary update...

I have an old HP 4530s laptop that has been working with 2x 8GB ram for nearly two years.

Updating to windows 10 anniversary update never worked (after many tries over a period of months) until I removed one stick of RAM.

I initially thought the stick of RAM must be faulty, but each stick on their own works fine. When they are both inserted, the computer won't even get to the BIOS.

With the pre-aniversary windows 10, both sticks worked well together.

The RAM is Kingston KVR13S9K2/16.

Can anyone think why Windows 10 anniversary update could stop a working configuration from functioning?

Any help would be apprecaited, though perhaps I'll just need to stick with 8GB RAM!

How did you come to be on Windows 10? The reason I'm asking is due to the fact that your product's support page only has support for a maximum of Windows 8.1. So I'm assuming you migrated from your older OS via the free upgrade path, if so the specs and the installation license key have been saved as a snap shot on your system. If you were to change the specs by a little, say the rams, then it's quite possible that the system will not boot up. In any case you might want to see if your BIOS is up to date and perhaps it could allow you to drop in the other stick of ram.

There are documented cases whereby people who migrated to the new platform couldn't upgrade their hardware unless they downgraded to the older OS, changed...

On another note, the HP 4530s is shown to have a maximum support for 8GB's of ram(as does my HP 4430s) so if anything perhaps the OS is trying to reinforce the maximum safe ram increment for the system.
