I have a Xbox one s and play battlefield 1 online. With 64 people i imagine this is a lot of data. How much is it using because my phones hotspot is stronger than internet connection.

Solution
That may be best asked on the game forum it can be very different from game to game. The numbers I have seen talked about on some games is 1/2gbyte/hour. You likely get a estimate by watching the resource monitor and doing the math.

there's a lot of things that could factor in with internet connection.
1. how fast is your ISP's internet supposed to be?
2. what type of internet do you have, cable, dsl, fiber?
3. are you playing on wireless/wifi?
4. if on wifi, how far away is the router/modem?
5. if on wifi, what does the router/modem support, G, N, AC?
6. if on wifi, is the xbox blocked by its surroundings?
7. if you are on wifi, have you tried using ethernet?

The largest issue with using a phone hotspot is that the 4g or whatever mobile broadband does not have consistent delays.

Games do not really care about speed they use very little. Most games are well under 500kbps. What they care about is consistent delays between the data packets. Any form of wireless both your WiFi and cellular wireless cause random delays in the data. A ethernet connected pc to a slower DSL connection is going to be much better to play games than any hotspot on your phone.

The number of users makes no difference unless you happen to be hosting the server out of your house and if I remember correctly EA does not allow private hosting anyway.
