Looking to upgrade my CPU

My current specs :
MOBO: ASRock Z75 pro3
GPU: Nvidia geforce gtx 1070
8gb ram
and my current cpu is an i5 3350p

Looking to upgrade due to my cpu falling behind my gpu as of late with certain game lag and such.

either a:
3770(k) cpu - rare, but simplestto deal with
a 4 series CPU and a new mobo - more expensive but you keep the ram
or skylake/kabylake cpu and mobo and new ram - most expensive

I'd find the best ivy bridge (3 series) you can and use that.

As far as LGA1155 goes, there's not many choices to pick from in the i5 range. You can go on pcpartpicker, set your motherboard and see what CPUs are available and for what price, maybe you find a good deal on an i7.

If you plan on swapping motherboard, consider if you're going to DDR4 as well..
